Multiple Maps: Keeping Together

Steel,

How should we deal with multiple maps that should be together? For example, let's say I have 5 maps of a 5 level temple. Now, let's say we upload them but not all at once; instead, I upload one today, make the another level and post it the next day.

Is there some way the site can bundle maps that belong to each other? Should we have the site place the maps in alphabetical order so that we can at least keep the maps together by naming methods?

Thoughts?

The sort order I've set for all albums is Last Changed Date - Descending, so newly added/edited items will be at the top of the lists, so it's easier to find newer items.

I wish Gallery2 allowed users to change the sort for them, but it doesn't seem to be an option.

To answer the question, naming is one way, though they won't stay together if uploaded at drastically different times. Adding a "1 of 5, 2 of 5" etc into the top of the description will help people search for the rest of the maps as well.

Show only new content?

On your old image site, it was easy to look for just the new content that had been uploaded since your last visit. Is there a similar feature here, and I'm just not finding it?

Crap, thought I replied to this.

Anyway, I added a mod that shows most recent updates. The link is in the Gallery Navigation on the left when at the Home page. It's only visible if registered and logged in.

re:creating groups

Unfortunately I don't have an answer for you. I don't know of any gallery software that does what you're describing. I think that's where search keywords are going to have to come into play.

The option that prevents the full URL from showing for searches and stuff is also the option that allows so many other things to work properly.

How about you put

How about you put an specific search keyword in your descriptions related to those images when you upload them. Then do a search for that keyword and when the list pops up, copy that link and post it at Dundjinni.

For example, I know I specifically put TROY in 2 of the images search keywords because they reminded me of the movie. I then search for TROY and paste my results here: http://rpgmapshare.com/search/gallery/troy

Let me see if it works - it should

Yeah, that worked fine..So

Yeah, that worked fine..

So if you have a 5 level dungeon that you call Tomb of Icarus, you could put Icarus in the keywords section of the file. Now when you search ICARUS, only yours files will appear.

I guess you could put other keywords in there to make them easily searchable by you; even put your initials or something in there.

That works great as long as you use the Drupal search instead of rhe Gallery search, something that may not be obvious to most people. The Drupal search is the search box in the upper right corner of any page.

And you can put the link in the Description or something. Though it sounds like you were already planning that. ;)
