Hmm, hopefully it's only temporary.
I might have Kepli's email address, I'll email him and see what's up.

Was my thought.
I would have emailed Kepli, but well... I don't have his email address, since I figured I could contact him through the boards.

I couldn't find it, but I sent him a contact message via Heruca's place, Battlegrounds.

Cool. Just checked and the boards are still down.

Kepli replied, they're moving to a new host. The way he said it made it sound like the move was done. I replied asking when they expect to be back online.
You'd think they'd have a message up stating they they're moving...
Steel Rat
Kepli posted once or twice
Kepli posted once or twice saying they were trying to figure out a server switch, prolly a month or so ago.
First notice I got that they were actually moving was when I tried to log on to the boards Thursday night.

I guess you're going through withdrawal about now

I was going through withdrawal on Friday.
I've been on a mapping binge, which means I've been dloading textures and objects like mad.

Heard from Kepli on the Battlegrounds boards...
The Dunjinni forum server migration is ongoing. They're trying to maintain the older fourms and the information transfer is pretty dense so it's taking a while.
Man they really need to put
Man they really need to put up a message on their site instead of just "down for maintenance".

My understanding of what has
My understanding of what has gone on is that the old server was shutting down and was not communicating with Mindy. She was unaware of the problems till recently and now they are switching to the new server. There were a few posts from Mindy & Kepli about this but the site closed just a couple days after they were posted, so if you hadn't logged on it was easy to miss them. It would be nice if a notice had been posted so people would know it is really being fixed. I am also getting withdrawal symptoms, so I can sympathize. I have been working on a set of maps for the contest (theme is "dangerous alley") so I am anxious to post them. I will be posting the hi-res versions here and a link from the contest.

Understood. But clearly a server is up and running, they should be able to place a banner message up on whichever server is currently displaying the page.

You'd think that would be a simple thing to do. I know I do.
Sadly, I don't find it out of character. Seems Kepli does more communicating with Dundjinni's community than the people they actually pay.

I'm sure it's a trivial thing to do. Perhaps they don't have direct access to the old server right now. Don't know.
Steel Rat
It would actually be pretty
It would actually be pretty simple just to have the link to the forums temporarily redirect to a holding page explaining what's going on. That they could do regardless of what forum server they're using.
I also can't imagine 2 weeks with both the forums AND store down can be doing them any favors from a sales standpoint.
Agreed on both. Steel Rat
Agreed on both.

Well ... uh ... what makes
Well ... uh ... what makes you think they're paying anyone any more?
They're still selling a program that is 2004 technology, and not very often, I suspect. That much cash is flowing is doubtful.
Unfortunately.

Does this mean the RpgMapShare forums will rise again?

I just found the Dundjinni site and wanted to download the software but the site is pretty much locked down. Are there any other retail sites that sell the software or another program like Dundjinni?

Could try RpgNow which lists a Mac and a PC download version...

Cool thanks! Anyone sell the art packs for it? I was looking to buy the modern and Sci-fi ones.
Just be sure the site is
Just be sure the site is selling the 1.07 version of DundJinni, not the older 1.05 version. 1.05 doesn't work well with Vista, 7, or Java versions higher than 5.
