Aerial photographs as a source of maps.

Here is a photo I found on-line and massaged into shape. It is hard to find them in high enough resolution or at an appropriate scale but it seems it can be a usable source for maps. What think the rest of you?

I have replaced the image

I have replaced the image with another one. This one has been cobbled together from Google earth which anyone can do.

It's not a question of

It's not a question of whether anyone can do it, but whether Google allows for re-use of captured images, free distribution. They pay for the sat images, so they may not care for it. Need to know for sure.

In my search for downloadable maps I came across this video

Which is a tutorial on how to extract large satellite view out of Google maps, a similar trick may work
with other sites

Now all I need is few good coordinates... any suggestions? Smile
