RPGMapShare Logo Contest

Hello All,

Inspired by the MapTools logo topic, I've decided that I'd like to get the creative juices out there flowing and see if you folks can come up with a cool RPGMapShare logo/banner.

What I'm looking for is something simple yet eye-catching. It needs to include the sitename, and possibly a relevant symbol or icon. The icon would also be used for the page icon (in broswers which use such things.), and for any other appropriate place (like sigs on other forums in order to advertise this site).

To upload your submissions, simply click the little Picture icon in the toolbar above (see sample pic below, if using the TINYMCE editor.) while replying to this topic.

Then click the little icon next to the URL field. This will let you browse to and upload an image.

Otherwise use the Attached Images option below.

Feel free to post samples and ask questions here!

Not really. I tend to go for gritty textured looks, but I'd like to see what other people feel is attractive. Assume a white background if you're doing anything with transparency.

Well, it's been a week, and only one person has shown any interest. So, I guess I'll actually have to name some sort of prize, instead of just the satisfaction of having your artwork displayed on the web and viewed my millions, er, thousands, er, hun... ok both of us...

The prize is..... Free Web Space!! Yes that's right, you guessed it!

Details to follow for those interested. But basically you'll be able to point your own domain (if you have one) to my nameservers, and will be able to run your own web sites. High bandwidth allowances, lots of disk space (a gig to start with), MySQL database access, CPanel control panel, and more.

So come on folks, let's light this candle!

Sorry, SR. Normally I'd offer to help out, but I don't have the time right now to devote to doing this properly, and I don't want to submit a half-assed, rushed logo design. If things change, I'll let you know. February might be a bit better for me.

This would be a logo, not really a banner. So something relatively small, probably no more than 200x200px.

I guess this "contest" has died an untimely death due to lack of participation and apathy. Seems like the only thing this site is good for is to take take take.

I appreciate the efforts of those who made the attempt, and the precious few who upload images to the site, and the even fewer who follow instructions.

I liked the first one too, and was hoping he would expand upon it, since he said it was a rough cut basically.

Yours is very cool too! I can scale it down a bit if needed. If you have any other ideas I'd like to see them as well. I wanted to get a good sampling of ideas to choose from.

I don't recognize any of the maps as bing mine, I don't have that many maps out there. I recognize one from the dundjinni forums, I think, an isometric map. Thanks for the info.

Just trying one out that didnt' require too much modification. Had to shrink it down otherwise it overran the top menu. I need to see what it takes to adjust the float size up there.
